Question for Sunshine Republicans thinking of jumping ship

Have you ever been an enthusiastic member of the Republican Party or are you a Sunshine Republican of little or no conviction who disappear's when it is time to toe the mark?

I once described enthusiasm for ones' conviction this way in the Author's Note of "Tin Soldiers" a story about one day with a Marine Fire Team in Korea during the 1st Marine Division's drive to take the Punchbowl during the spring of 1951.

"It is the figurative 11th hour when Infantrymen's resolve excels. It is the hour they struggle to keep eyes open; the hour when their bodies are wracked with exhaustion and pain; the hour when dulled minds ache; the hour when blood crusted injuries ooze corruption; it is the hour when they can do no more-and should leaders becon-they rise to their feet and do more-and more again."

Do you have such magnificient enthusiasm for your espoused political convictions or are you just talk and no action? You see, folks, true enthusiasm will not surface until the chips are down and it is time to stand up and be counted. Any vocal support expressed before that during a rally, convention, caucus, fund raiser or talk with another before you had to face such a point in time, I offer, was nothing more than meaningless excitement exuded during good times when you enjoyed being recognized as one of the Republican Party's faithful.

Yep, you enjoyed the pats on the back and adolation as being an ardent Republican striving to do good for the nation when your party was atop the heap.  What have you done since to help your party remain strong?   Outward exhuberance, you know, during good times has nothing at all to do with being enthusiastic when the going gets rough.  Nor has it anything to do with being one of the Republican Party's staunch faithful who close ranks with their peers and defend their espoused beliefs when the limelight dims.

Sure, the Republican party is down in the polls, but what party wouldn't be after more than six years of constant attack not only by Democrats who would want George Washington to fail if it meant their return to power but by comedians, such as Leno and Letterman and the liberal media day in and day out for more than the past lustrom without giving thought to how what they do is giving aid and comfort to the Terrorists.

If President Bush begins a meeting, any meeting about anything, with "Good Morning" you can bet your bippie that Senate and House minority leaders Harry Reid and Nancy, I can't give enough of your hard earned money to others, Pelosi will call a news conference and denounce the President's opening sentiment as being inadequate, not shared enough with others and tout they have a better greeting for all, which, if asked, they won't share.

The Democratic Party claims to be the party of the poor. I have no quarrel with this for they certainly have done a good job over the past century plus of ensuring a large segment of our society remains poor in order to have a base for their campaign issues.

How would you like to have your job, your every word and move monitored and reported on 24/7 by today's liberal press, electronic media, and be fodder for comedians' inane sick humor nightly? President Bush has to live and function as our President in such a world.  What is the last positive thing you have done, as a Republican, to assist President Bush in the world wide war on Terrorism; in solving our nation's civil issues such as fixing Social Security; making our streets safer; making our schools better?  What is the last positive thing you have done to make your party, The Republican Party a better political party of your own volition?

How would you like to be the world's only super power's Chief Executive Officer and Commander in Chief of its military forces and have many elected officials in the Legislative Branch denigrate your every action and claim they could do better, not because you are wrong but simply because they know if they defame you long enough people will begin to believe what they say is true and side with them?

When is the last time your spouse and children rebuked your every thought, word, and deed, after the fact and said they could have done better?  When is the last time one of your family members stepped forward before the fact and volunteered their better solution for your consideration.  In this great nation we have one elected President, 500 elected members of the Senate and House who act like after the fact quasi Presidents, plus thousands of media representatives, comedians, commentators, and reporters who claim they could do better no matter what decision the President had made.  The thing these naysayers have in common is that they never offer a solution nor take responsibility for anything they say.  They are the Monday morning quarterbacks who tear apart ball games and players after the fact because it makes them feel like they are superior girls and boys, real players.  I find it laughable when they call themselves Sports men and women.  They are too emeshed in their own egos to see the simple truth as  concerns them.

The United States is not nor has it ever been a nation of Sportsmen and women; we are a nation of Spectators, second guessers, and mindless noodnicks who enjoy taking apart those who do every action because through loudly attacking others mistakes they hope to hide their weaknesses and failures from the world.

Why do you think Hillory Clinton has been mouthing off so much lately and blaming President Bush for our problem with North Korea.  It is because when she and the guy who has cuckolded her many times when co-presidents attempted to buy off North Korea by paying that bedlamite of a shrimp Dictator tribute during their term in office.  Have you forgotten that Bill and Hillary Clinton are the first Husband and Wife Team who while President and First lady both lied under oath to save their lard buttocals from being melted in the frying pan?  The tribute the Clinton's and the Democratic Party (they were the majority party at the time) paid to North Korea was used to create North Korea's current missile and nuclear weapons.  You want to be part of governing as the European Nation's do, by paying tribute in an attempt to be left alone, then by all means jump party and vote Democratic.  Become part of the problem and not the solution.

Have you noted  how many politicians in both parties have not closed ranks behind the President during this time of war, as they should have, to work with and not against him because regaining party power or because if they stand with the President they fear being wrong or on the losing side of an issue is of more concern to them than our Nation's best interest?  Such selfish party members in my opinion are moral cowards more interested in being reelected and popular than in being a patriot and doing their job.

It is popular for today's media to keep emphasizing how much "Hate" there is out there for our President. Why? Doesn't the media realize that Hate is a personal thing they wrongfully report as being directed toward our President by the masses while in truth only a few malcontent socialists and entertainment industry elitists and the media are the ones who embrace any hate toward President Bush?  In my opinion in doing so they also are giving aid and comfort to the Terrorists.  Many of the entertainment industry have nothing more than oodles of money to show for prostituting themselves before cameras. They are not this nation's brightest political bulbs. Anyone who claims they "Hate" President Bush should stand up and do so of their own volition because to hate is a very personal thing and not a mindless group activity. President Bush has done nothing to deserve anyone's hate especially during these days of dark national trial. But, then again, Jesus did nothing to cause anyone to hate Him but when it was time to toe the mark, the mindless shouted "Give us Barabbus".  Who will you "shout" for on election day?

Another question. Have you ever thought about how detestible being a traitor to your expressed beliefs, your chosen party, during time of challenge and need will be? What will you be embracing but meism and self first. To me such an action will be odious because you will not have been loyal even unto your own professed political beliefs.  Kinda like those who during the last century espoused the "Better Red than Dead" philosphy.  Jump party if you wish and do not have the stomach to stand up and be counted as a Republican.  Change your voter registration also because "you can't have your cake and eat it too".

If there are problems within your party work to correct them. If there are those you believe have betrayed what your party stands for, expose and expell them. Stay and work to make your party better, don't desert your party or its leaders call for help just because the going is rough.  This is the 11th hour and you are being called upon to get up and do more, then more again.

If the Republican Party's principles are the same as you say you belive then take an active part in protecting and preserving them. Don't be the one who jumps overboard because you believe your ship of state is sinking.  You also have the option of picking up an oar and rowing.

If you live your life according to polls and political correctness than by all means vote Democratic.

If you live your life as a quitter, a tribute payer, a follower who wants government to decide what is best for you and how your hard earned money should be spent, by all means vote Democratic.

If you consider yourself to be superior to your fellow man than by all means jump ship and vote Democratic.

Are you getting the feeling yet that what I am saying to you is it is not what's going on in your chosen party that is the matter but the manner of your faith as a Republican that is important to the party, to the nation. It is not those who consider themselves to be honest Republicans that count as much as your being a faithful Republican -- which is what really counts.

If you want others to believe what you believe than you must do affirming things and not sit quietly on the sideline wringing your hands and moaning woefully I'm getting out of here because "The Sky is falling".   If you are ever going to respect yourself as a person, as a Republican, honor your beliefs and instead of jumping ship - quit being a spectator and join the game as a player.  It is time for Republicans of worth to  roll up their sleeves, vote Republican because it is what you ought to do, and then get busy making your party better because that is the right thing to do.

Don't judge your party by what those who claim "...the world is worse off because of Presiden Bush". It isn't. Have you noticed that President Bush does not respond in kind to those who denigrate him because he is more of a man, a President, than to stoop to such vileness. What this nation truly needs is more Presidents like President Bush, a man who does not govern by polls in order to be liked and accomodating but instead govern's by being Presidential during this period of dark national trial.  And you can rest assured when President Bush leaves the White House none of the silverware will go with him to a multi million dollar house in another state bought and being paid for by we the people thorugh the Democratic Party and Bill and Hillary's conniving ways.

In the past 2006 years there have been only two defining forces that have ever offered to die for you. Jesus Christ and those who serve in our Armed Forces. One died to save your soul, the other is dying today to ensure your freedom and safety, let them do their job. Yes, the Republican party has been wounded and is tottering a bit and its leaders are beckoning your support.   The choice is yours, you can choose to sit their on your enhanced buttocals and do nothing, or you can jump ship because you don't have the moxie to stay the course, or you can get up, labor to the voting booth and vote according to your chosen political convictions -- or not.  SYOTB
